Hilda Lloréns holds a Ph.D. in anthropology. Her research interests include race, racism and identity among Puerto Ricans, Latina body modification practices and body aesthetics, U.S. urban arts and artists, representations of U.S. Latinas, Latina cultural production, popular and youth culture and qualitative and visual methodologies. At ICR, Dr. Lloréns is researching subjective meanings of success as it relates to overall quality of life among Puerto Rican girls in Hartford, CT.
